Free help with your residence permit

OkayForm helps with routine renewals. For questions about your own situation, these services give free advice, and most of them speak English.

Get advice before you file if, for example, your permit has already ended, the ministry refused an application or cancelled a permit, you changed jobs without reporting it, your family situation changed, or you received a letter from the ministry you don't understand.

OkayForm isn't connected to any of these services and gets nothing for listing them. We checked what each one offers on its own website on 1 Oct 2026. Opening hours change often: please check them on their websites.

A lawyer for your situation

Only a lawyer (advokát) can represent you before the ministry or write a legal opinion on your case. The Czech Bar Association lists every lawyer, and can name one for you if your income is low.

  • Czech Bar Association: find a lawyer

    Česká advokátní komora, vyhledávač advokátů

The official directory of every lawyer (advokát) in Czechia. You can search by town, by language and by field, for example “foreigners' law, asylum law” (cizinecké právo, azylové právo). Languages and fields are as the lawyers report them. Lawyers charge for their work; ask about the price first.

    Where
Online, in English, Czech, French and German.

  • Česká advokátní komora, určení advokáta

If your income is low, the Bar can name a lawyer for you: for a free short consultation (30 to 120 minutes a year; the application costs CZK 100, with some exceptions), or for free legal services if your income and property justify it and two lawyers have turned you down. You apply on official forms; the page is in Czech.

    Where
Applications go to the Bar's office in Brno, by post, e-mail or data box.

Klientské centrum pro poskytování informací cizincům

General information on residence: which documents to bring, which office to go to, booking an appointment, and your application's reference number and status. It doesn't advise on your individual case. Calls cost your operator's standard rate.
